Design of Dutch ovens
Our condiment and enameled cast iron Dutch ovens have a sturdy design with a thick base that looks up from the base and walls that are only slightly thinner than the base, and integrated handles that mean they are built into the design and are cast in one piece. The matching heavy lid keeps moisture inside the oven for its self-roasting function.
The seasoned cast iron lid rings and carry handles are generous, reaching the same temperature as the cookware itself. Dutch oven accessories such as a lid lifter, tripod, fire retardant gloves and a three-legged plate make using the oven safe.

Cleaning and Maintenance
For best results over a longer period of time although seasoned cast iron is pre-seasoned it should be seasoned prior to its first.
Continued cleaning and maintenance involve hot water and a scrubbing brush drying and storing away from humidity. Re-season when the natural non-stick surface breaks down (food starts sticking)
Enameled cast iron does not need seasoning but plenty of oil should be used during cooking to avoid sticking. The best practice is to wash with warm soapy water as soon as possible after each use, avoiding the dishwasher for all cast iron cookware!
